Quokka are always as happy as dogs who are about to receive their favorite treat. They're distinctive because of their cheeky little grins, friendly personality, and their resemblance to a mini-kangaroo.
These cute animals are herbivorous and mainly nocturnal, they can live for up to ten years. When you look at a quokka, you suddenly feel a wave of joy and we dare you to not get the widest smile on your face, they’ve been labeled the happiest animal in the world. Quokkas are known for their friendly and approachable nature, that's explain why people's selfies with these funny animals have recently charmed the Internet.
They live on a handful of small southwestern Australian islands such as Bald Island and Rottnest Island just a quick ferry trip from Perth or Fremantle. They're used to tourists, so they have little fear of human contact, but you shouldn’t feed them and you cannot keep Quokkas as pets!
The quokka is about the size of a cat or rabbit, male quokkas usually weigh about 5 – 10 pounds. Females are slightly smaller at 3 – 8 pounds.
