More and more plus-size models are becoming famous by appearing on the runway, red carpet, and cover of magazines, having often millions of fans on social media.
They are called "curvy" models and they are raising awareness of the concept that every woman can be sexy and accept even with a few extra kilos.
Models Alva Claire, Precious Lee, and Jill Kortleve all walked in Versace's Spring/Summer 2021 collection debut on Friday, September 25 destroying the myth that "beauty" is synonymous with"thinness". As more legendary fashion houses like Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, and Fendi take a stand for representation by using curve models, the further the message of size inclusivity extends.
The trio's appearance comes at a time when many are reconsidering the long-held conventions of the runway and it made history as it was the first time in her 23 years in the business that Versace showcased curvy women.
Fashion week may look a whole lot different this season due to COVID-19 regulations but we believe the increase of body diversity will be one of the best changes coming our way.

Im so so so proud of us @alvaclaire @preciousleexoxo .It’s so unbelievable to work for brands I always dreamt of working for. I hope that we open the doors for a new generation with the same dreams but who never saw themselves in the magazines or the commercials.
