Artist Tomáš Libertíny collaborated with 60,000 bees to recreate the Nefertiti bust.
He is a Slovakian artist currently living and working in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for Libertíny Studio.
The artwork, titled “Eternity”, began by developing a 3D model of the original bust right before introducing the assistance of 60,000 bees, the bee colony occupied the vacant body and added honeycomb and beeswax, gradually supplying the sculpture condition.
For the past 2 years, Libertíny has been working on this project. It is an all-natural creation made by bees, with a little structural guidance by a 3D model developed by Tomáš.
The bust of Nefertiti is part of the ‘made by bees’ series each more impressive than the other. Libertíny’s sculptures have the potential to remain intact for thousands of years if maintained properly.
